The Timhotel Montmartre is a typical whitewashed French hotel perched on the slopes of the Butte de Montmartre. Many of its 60 rooms overlook the picturesque Place Emile Goudeau with its chestnut trees and the Wallace Fountain. It is in the 18ieme district which is the arty, residential area that has a village atmosphere. During your stay at the Timhotel Montmartre, take the funicular railway to the imposing Romano-Byzantine basilica of Sacre Cœur which houses the largest mosaic in the world at 475 sq m. From the top of its dome you can see for up to 50km in all directions. In the narrow winding streets of Butte Montmartre you will find Paris's 2 remaining windmills and only vineyard.
At night visit the legendary Au Lapin Agile nightclub to hear Chansons and pœtry, or go a little further to the famous Moulin Rouge, home of the can-can and the scene of many of Toulouse Lautrec's paintings and enjoy a cabaret and dinner. The Timhotel Montmarte is a perfect base for exploring this still slightly bohemian area of Paris and is easily accessible from Abesses or Pigalle metro and is only 1km from the Eurostar terminal at Gare du Nord station.
