The Relais Standard Design is a small, 34 roomed hotel near the Marais district of Paris. It lies in a quiet side street amidst the trendy bars and restaurants of this buzzy area and offers guest rooms with en suite bathroom and hairdryer, flat screen TV with satellite channels, an in room safe and WiFi internet access. All the rooms are air conditioned. There is 24 hour reception and services including manicure, massage and hairdressing.
The Marais quarter is full of pre-Revolution architecture and narrow streets with the 17th century Place des Vosges, built by Henry IV, at its centre. You can also find the Musée Picasso and the Maison de Victor Hugo in this area.
From your base at the Standard Design Hotel it is a short walk to the Opera Bastille, opened in 1989, which stages opera, ballet and concerts. For more modern entertainment stroll to the Bercy stadium, an indoor venue that hosts pop and rock concerts as well as sporting events such as show jumping, gymnastics and basketball.
The Pompidou Centre is only a couple of kilometres away and contains exhibition centres and cinemas as well as housing a vast collection of 20th century French art. The wonderful Gothic cathedral of Notre Dame, famous in literature and film, is equally close to the Relais Standard Design.
