The Relais Paris Lyon Bastille is a small, friendly hotel in the 12ième district of the capital. The 12ième district is a mainly residential area bordered on the east by the Bois de Vincennes, a lovely park with its own zoo. The Relais Paris Lyon Bastille is close to many of the famous sights of city. Notre Dame cathedral is within easy walking distance and here you can admire the glorious Gothic architecture and stained glass window as well as enjoying the view from Quasimodo's bell tower. Don't forget to pay a visit to the underground museum in the front. Just a stone's throw away lies the Jardin des Plantes, founded in 1626 as a medicinal herb garden and now both a gardens and a part of the Natural History Museum. Another open space worth visiting is the Cimetière Père Lachaise which contains the graves of luminaries such as Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison and Edith Piaf. The nearby Place des Vosges is Paris 'oldest square dating from the 1600s and contains the Picasso museum and the house of Victor Hugo.
