The Monceau Wagram is a small, independently owned 25 roomed hotel situated in the upscale 17ième district of Paris close to the Parc Monceau and the Place des Ternes. It offers 25 bright and comfortable guest rooms all complete with mini bar, safe, direct dial phone and modem, hairdryer and cable TV. There is also WiFi internet access. The area surrounding the Monceau Wagram is diverse and interesting. The nearby Place des Ternes has a beautiful flower market and the Parc Monceau was made famous in Monet's paintings. The Arc de Triomphe, Napoleon's commemoration of his victory at Austerlitz in 1805, towers 50m above the Place de l'Etoile and the 12 roads leading from it. Take the 284 steps to the top and look straight down the Champs Elysées to the Place de la Concorde where the guillotine once stood. The Eiffel Tower, another of Paris' iconic sights, is also within walking distance of the Monceau Wagram. Originally built in 1889 for the Grand Exposition it now offers some of the most stunning views over Paris and is beautifully illuminated at night. The Bois de Boulogne was inspired by London's Hyde Park and has cycle paths, rowing boats and cafes as well as a horse racing track and sports stadia. Take the children to the Jardin d'Acclimatisation.
