Hotel description The Comfort Hotel Place du Tertre is located at the foot of the Butte Montmartre in an area that still feels like a bohemian village. Inside its corner façade, typical of the area, it has 46 recently refurbished and soundproofed guest rooms all with en suite bathroom and hairdryer, direct dial phone and satellite TV. Reception is open 24 hours a day and a buffet breakfast is served in a light, airy air conditioned room.
The Montmartre area is full of winding narrow streets with bars and cafes, including the Café des Deux Moulins, made famous in the film "Amélie". The Comfort Hotel Place du Tertre is close to the Rue Lepic where there is a lively street market. The Place du Tertre itself used to be frequented by artists such as Picasso, Dali and Renoir and is still a venue for local artists today. The Bateau-Lavoir, once a squalid tenement, was the residence of artists such as Picasso and Modiglaini. At the top of the hill is the Romano Byzantine basilica of Sacré Cœur and if you climb the 234 winding steps to the top of its dome you will be rewarded by stunning views for 30km over the city. Montmartre contains Paris' sole vineyard and two surviving windmills, one of which, the Moulin de la Galette, is close to the Comfort Hotel Place du Tertre. The famous Moulin Rouge is also, but provides a different type of entertainment! Enjoy a meal and cabaret here, and go on to the legendary Le Lapin Agile nightclub.
