Hotel description The Alexander is an intimate boutique hotel in the 16iéme district of Paris. It is in a recently refurbished 19th century building and has 61 guest rooms including four suites complete with jacuzzi. All the rooms are air conditioned and have en suite bathroom with hairdryer, satellite TV and direct dial pone. There is dial up internet access, mini bar and in room safe. Reception at the Alexander is available 24 hours a day and the staff will be happy to arrange services such as babysitting, laundry, limo hire and even private guided tours on request. There is a bar and a lounge area in the marble floored lobby and an English style breakfast gallery. Room service is available, but not 24 hours.
The 16iéme district of Paris is widely regarded as the area for the wealthy. The Alexander is in the centre of the area within walking distance of the Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysées and across the River Seine from the Eiffel Tower which is visible from some of the guest rooms. At the foot of the 320m high tower lies the Parc du Champs de Mars, originally a military parade ground, and the Ecole Militaire. For real open spaces visit the nearby Bois de Bologne where you can cycle, walk, jog or row and enjoy coffee in a belle époque café. There is a race course here and the wonderful Jardin d'Acclimatisation for children of all ages. If you are into culture, stroll from the Alexander to the Palais de Chaillot which houses the Musée d'Homme, the Musée de la Marine and the French film library. |
